Since route and aggregation mode keep the ChatGPT login (#8431), the
route table writes requires_openai_auth = true whenever a login is on
disk, so making a third-party card the aggregation default no longer
keeps Codex from locking the send button to Luna Reserve once the
official 5-hour quota runs out.
The guide and the 4.6 manual pages now describe the method that still
works: switch to Direct, keep "Keep official login for direct switches"
off, switch to a third-party card and fully restart Codex; switch back
to Aggregation once the quota resets. The old method is marked as no
longer working.

Aggregation mode used to strip [agents] default_subagent_model, so Codex
sub-agents always followed the main model (#8286). Users can now choose a
sub-agent model and reasoning effort for aggregation, both in the
"Switch to Aggregation" dialog and in a new Aggregation settings sheet on
the Stack tab.
- The choice is a device setting (settings.json). On every rewrite it is
checked against the merged model catalog: an id that is no longer
published (member removed, or it is now the default provider) is not
written, so sub-agents fall back to the main model instead of every
spawn failing, and it comes back when the member is re-added. An effort
the model does not support is dropped.
- Codex reads [agents] when a thread starts: new conversations pick up a
change without a restart; open ones keep the old value.
- The classic sub-agent tools toggle moves from Settings into the sheet
and is now on by default: with the newer tools the main agent's
provider encrypts the task and a sub-agent on another provider gets
nothing (#8253). It is stored under a new key, codexStackClassicTools;
the old codexStackClassicSubagents key was written as false on every
save since v4.0.10, so it is no longer read.
- Docs and the four locales updated.
Translate the site owner integration guide into English and Japanese,
quoting UI labels from the app's own locale files and using each
language's Sub2API template fallback message. The three versions link to
each other. Manual 5.3 (en/ja) and the English, German and Japanese
READMEs now point to the guide in their own language.
Site owners running New API or Sub2API already have an "Import to CC
Switch" button in the key list. Say so up front, and point out that New
API's link carries no usage script, so users see no balance after import.
The manual linked the generator at farion1231.github.io, but GitHub Pages
was never enabled for the repository, so the link returned 404. The page
is now hosted on the website at ccswitch.io/deplink.html; the manual
(zh/en/ja), the four READMEs and the site owner guide point there.
The generator inlines its favicon and logo so the same file works both in
the repository and on the website. Manual 5.3 gains a pointer to the site
owner guide, and its usage steps list the Skill repository type.
The guide explained how to build a link but not how to put it on a page.
Add a section on fetching the link from the backend when the button is
clicked (so the key never sits in the page source), the button markup,
and what to show when CC Switch is not installed. Add a fast path at the
top and fold the sections most sites can skip.
The link generator folds the Base64 tool and the MCP, prompt and Skill
examples, opens them when reached from the sidebar or an anchor, and
gains an FAQ entry pointing to the new section.
The user manual (zh/en/ja) gains a Sub2API template section, and the link
generator and the site owner guide gain a Sub2API example. All of them use
the same script as the in-app template.
deplink.html becomes a generator for site owners instead of a test page:
a sidebar layout with light and dark themes, tabs for provider, MCP,
prompt and Skill links, per-app `apiFormat` choices, usage script
templates, and examples that follow the v4.0.10 rules (Pi providers,
the activation toggle, `apiFormat`).
iconUrl:
- The generator gets an `iconUrl` field and checks it with the same
shape rules as the app (https, a domain, default port, no
credentials), so a link is never generated with an address CC Switch
would drop. Built-in `icon` names are checked against the same
whitelist as the parser.
- The parser marks `icon` and `iconUrl` values that would be dropped.
- New example and FAQ entry for a site's own icon.
- The integration guide adds `iconUrl` to the Node.js sample and a
debugging step pointing at the log line. The zh and ja manuals list
`iconUrl` and say what `icon` accepts.
高級オプション reads as "luxury options" in Japanese. Rename the toggle and the docs that quote it (README_JA, the Japanese routing guides and the user manual FAQ).
- Explain why Codex sub-agents on another provider cannot read encrypted tasks
and how the classic sub-agent tools setting avoids it
- Explain that Codex locks the picker to Luna Reserve once the official 5-hour
quota runs out, and describe the workaround of temporarily making a
third-party provider the default (#7945, #7962, #7974)
- Update the Chinese guide and the Chinese, English, and Japanese manuals
- Add the Chinese aggregation guide with the final cover, client screenshots, and request-routing diagram
- Update Chinese, English, and Japanese manuals to distinguish model fetching, models.dev metadata completion, and manual entry
- Clarify official subscription support, default models, and client restart requirements; add README links
- Validate 90 local documentation links, five images, and Git diff formatting
- Backfill website-only edits: Kimi direct-connection section, desktop FAQ cross-links, stray </content>
- Retitle the DeepSeek guide around Chat-format providers; v4-pro, Kimi, GLM and MiniMax now connect directly
- Rename the toggle to "Keep official login for direct switches"; document auth.json removal and takeover preservation
- Prefill gpt-5.6-sol, mention the Kimi Global presets, and use routing takeover terminology
- Remove the outdated, unreferenced proxy-guide-zh.md
Two independent web-search paths behind the CC Switch local proxy:
- Register POST /alpha/search and its local aliases as a semantic passthrough
to the selected Codex provider, reusing provider selection, model mapping,
auth, retry/failover, and logging. Full-URL providers derive the sibling
/alpha/search endpoint only from unambiguous /responses URLs and fail
closed otherwise.
- Bridge Claude Code's hosted WebSearch tool onto OpenAI Responses and the
Codex OAuth backend: request translation with fail-closed semantics for
unrepresentable constraints (blocked_domains, non-direct callers,
response_inclusion, unverified versions), paired server_tool_use /
web_search_tool_result blocks, citation preservation, max_uses enforcement,
multi-turn replay, and usage.server_tool_use.web_search_requests.

The guide used DeepSeek as its Chat-format example, which stopped being
accurate once the preset moved to native Responses. It is not obsolete,
though: a provider saved before 3.19.1 keeps its stored apiFormat and
still carries the "needs routing" badge, and deepseek-v4-pro has no
official Codex integration yet, so Chat + routing remains its only path.
Rather than swap in a different provider, open with a check for which
case the reader is in (badge present/absent/no-routing-support) plus a
three-row table for DeepSeek specifically. The title and filename stay
put — six published release notes and three sibling guides link here.
Also in this pass:
- Drop the screenshot of the old boolean "needs local routing mapping"
toggle; that control is now Advanced Options -> Upstream Format, a
three-way select. The image file stays, since the official-auth
preservation guide still references it.
- Document the Anthropic Messages format, previously unmentioned.
- Fix the Chat-provider list: DeepSeek and MiniMax both moved to
Responses, so name Kimi, Zhipu GLM, SiliconFlow and ModelScope.
- Note that converting an existing provider keeps the official catalog's
capabilities (freeform apply_patch, GPT-5 harness, low/high/max,
web_search) but that its stored contextWindow of 1000000 overrides the
official 1048576, with two ways to fix it.
- Record the direct connection's prerequisites: Codex CLI 0.144.0+ and a
~75 KB catalog file.
- Add a usage-attribution section: the provider dimension collapses into
Codex (Session), while the model dimension still separates rows.
- Reference DeepSeek's official Codex integration and Responses API docs.
All UI terms are taken from the locale files so they match what the app
actually renders in each language.
Document API key and ChatGPT OAuth routing flows for using Codex models in Claude Code, including configuration screenshots and troubleshooting guidance.
Step-by-step guide for the v3.17.0 native Anthropic Messages upstream:
add a custom Codex provider pointed at a Claude-family /v1/messages
gateway, pick the anthropic upstream format, enable local routing, and
verify the chain. Covers the auth-field choice (Bearer vs x-api-key),
the Claude Code impersonation toggle, the 8192 max-output fallback, and
a FAQ entry for gateways that restrict keys to Claude Code only.
Includes four UI screenshots captured from the real 3.17.0 app with
sample data, and links the guide from the v3.17.0 release notes in all
three languages.
- Add v3.16.4 release notes in zh/en/ja.
- Add a trilingual FAQ explaining why custom models don't show in the Codex desktop model picker (upstream Codex Desktop login-identity gating, not a cc-switch bug) and the keep-official-login mitigation; cross-linked both ways with the official-auth preservation guide.
- Align the CHANGELOG 3.16.4 release date to 2026-06-27.
New zh/en/ja guide for the unified Codex session-history toggle: what opt-in migration (on enable) and ledger-based restore (on disable) actually do, why session data is never truly deleted (tag-only rewrite + automatic backups), and how to verify files on disk versus just being filed under another provider drawer. Includes a symptom reference table for the common "my sessions are gone" misunderstanding and on-disk verification commands for macOS/Linux/Windows.
Link the guide as the lead item in the "Usage Guides" section of the v3.16.3 release notes (zh/en/ja).
